Harlequin Class visit ‘Frankie and Benny’s’
On Thursday, 12th May, we were lucky enough to secure a visit to ‘Frankie and Benny’s’ restaurant in Tamworth to take part in their “Pizza Party Workshop” for children. The aim of the outing was to inspire children to be excited about cooking whilst also learning useful kitchen and cookery skills. We arrived all raring-to-go at 9.30am and discovered the restaurant had been laid out for us with chef’s hats to label and colouring books. We sat in groups of 4 and each had a turn to make our own group pizza after a demonstration from Callum, who looked after us really well. The children named their pizza, after deciding which topping to use and then while we washed our hands they cooked, ready for us to eat – yummy!! We had an extra surprise just before it was time to go... William’s mummy arrived with a birthday cake and we all sang ’Happy Birthday’ and had a party bag to take back to school ! The restaurant also gave us all ‘kids eat free’ unlimited passes. In the afternoon, we made a great big thank you card which Mrs. Barclay took into the restaurant after school. We had a fantastic time, and the grown-ups even managed to grad a cheeky slice of pizza too, although Mr. Kilkenny was most disappointed that we didn’t bring any back for him !!!
