We were thrilled with our results from the North West Primary Schools athletics events at Tamworth Stadium this week. The first event; Long Jump, was won by Year 5 Jem Sorohan and it set the tone for the day with our highest ever number of medals! Our Year 3s came out tops in Long Jump, Javelin and the Ball Throw with Luke, Sienna, Scarlet and Lucy all bringing back Gold! Our Mandarin winners were Meg Samways - winning the Y4 Ball Throw and Olivia Byrne winning the Y6 Ball Throw.  The introduction of the Golden Mile at Newton, in which pupils are challenged with running targets as part of their PE lessons, has seen a significant increase in children's fitness and confidence in sporting events and it was lovely to see this reflected in competitions this year.
